Privacy Policy

1. Data That Stays on Your Device

Pocket AI does not collect, store, process, or share your conversation content, prompts, generated responses, voice audio, attachments, or custom instructions. Calendar events, Reminders, photo and video counts, Apple Health data, text and documents you share into the app, source snapshots, projects, and Daily Briefs are also processed and stored locally.

• The per-day photo and video counts your Daily Brief is built from. Pocket AI never copies, opens, or exports a photo, and it never stores a photo's location: it counts how many separate places a day's photos came from and keeps only that number
• The one-line daily summary of the Apple Health data you choose to share with the app, such as hours of sleep, step count, and workouts. It is kept only on your device
• Text, web links, and documents you send to Pocket AI from another app's share sheet. A document is read on your device and only its words are kept; the original file is never copied, stored, or uploaded

2. On-Device Processing

AI inference is performed locally using your device's processor and memory. Your prompts and replies are not transmitted to an external AI server. Voice input is transcribed locally with Whisper. Daily Brief reads only the sources you choose — Calendar events, incomplete Reminders, photo and video counts, the Apple Health data you allow, and anything you shared into the app — then generates the brief locally with a downloaded model. Words extracted from a shared document are kept in a private container shared between the app and its share extension on your device, and are never uploaded.

3. Permissions

• Microphone — requested only after you use voice input; audio is transcribed on-device
• Calendar and Reminders — requested only when you connect each source for Daily Brief; content is read locally and is not uploaded
• Photos — requested only when you connect Photos as a Daily Brief source. Pocket AI reads the date and location metadata of photos and videos taken in the last two days so your brief can say how much you photographed and in how many places. It never requests image data, so no picture is opened, copied, or uploaded, and no location is stored or named — only the number of separate places. Granting Limited Access works: the brief is built from the photos you chose and says on its face that it covers only those
• Apple Health — requested only when you connect Apple Health as a Daily Brief source. Pocket AI asks to read sleep, steps, workouts, exercise minutes, active energy, and resting heart rate, and you choose which of these to allow on the iOS permission sheet. It never asks to write to Health. It reads only the last two days and turns them into one line per day for your brief. This data is processed on your device only. It is never uploaded, never sent to analytics, never stored in iCloud, never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared with or sold to anyone. You can change or remove access at any time in the Health app → your profile → Apps → Pocket AI
• Share sheet — no permission is requested, because nothing is read until you choose Pocket AI from another app's share sheet yourself. The extension accepts selected text, a single web link, and a single document. A document is opened on your device, its words are extracted there, and the words are shown to you before you post — you can edit or delete any of it first. The file itself is never copied or kept. Pocket AI also appears in the share sheet for photos and video, but its text-only model cannot read them: the sheet says the file cannot be read and the Post button stays disabled, so no image or video data is ever taken in. What you send is placed in a private container shared between the app and its extension on your device so your next Daily Brief can use it; it is never uploaded, and the extension makes no network request at all
• Notifications and background refresh — used for best-effort Daily Brief preparation and a generic local readiness notification; iOS controls the timing

4. Third-Party Services

Pocket AI uses RevenueCat for the optional Pro purchase, purchase restoration, and entitlement checks. RevenueCat receives purchase history plus anonymous app-user and device identifiers needed to provide that functionality; it does not receive your prompts, replies, chats, voice audio, Calendar events, Reminders, or Daily Briefs. Apple processes App Store transactions under Apple's privacy policy.

Pocket AI also uses PostHog and Firebase/Google Analytics for the optional usage analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports, described in section 5.

Feedback and feature requests. Nothing is sent unless you open Settings ▸ Feedback, write a message, and tap Send anonymously. The app then sends that message, whether it is feedback or a feature request, and the app and iOS version to PostHog. Each message gets a new random identifier, so it is not linked to your device, your analytics identifier, your purchases, or any other message you send. It carries no name, no email, and none of your chats. PostHog receives ordinary network information such as your IP address. Write only what you are comfortable sharing.

When you initiate a model or voice-pack download, the app connects to the file provider over HTTPS; the provider receives the network information normally needed to deliver the file. Pocket AI does not send chat or Daily Brief source content with these requests.

5. Analytics and Tracking

Pocket AI 3.1.6 sends content-free usage analytics to PostHog and Firebase/Google Analytics so we can see which features are used, whether model downloads succeed, and where the purchase flow breaks. These services receive a pseudonymous app identifier, categorical interaction events, ordinary network information such as your IP address, and the device and app context needed to provide analytics. Pocket AI associates that pseudonymous profile with the RevenueCat app-user ID so purchase outcomes can be measured against feature usage.

The app never sends message text, prompt bodies, conversation titles, voice audio, Calendar events, Reminders, photos, photo counts, photo locations, Apple Health data, text, links or documents you share into the app, Daily Brief content, attachments, contact information, or an advertising identifier.

Usage analytics is on by default and can be turned off at any time under Privacy settings in the app. Pocket AI does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, serves no ads, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes. A crash report contains the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version, plus memory context: which on-device model was loading or loaded, the device’s total memory, how much memory the App was using, and whether iOS had warned the App that memory was low — never message text, prompt body, conversation title, file content, or shared text. Turning off usage analytics in Privacy settings also turns off crash reporting.

This website uses Google Analytics to measure visits and page usage, and to count clicks that lead to the App Store. Google Analytics may process the page URL, browser and device information, approximate location, cookies, and network information needed to provide these reports. We disable Google Signals and advertising-personalization features, and we do not send contact-form contents, chat content, or other text you enter to Google Analytics.

6. Data Deletion

You can turn off usage analytics under Privacy settings in the App. You can disconnect Daily Brief sources and delete their local snapshots in the App. You can also remove downloaded models or delete the App to remove locally stored conversations, settings, sources, Daily Briefs, and model files. Purchase records may remain with RevenueCat and Apple, and content-free analytics events and crash reports already collected may remain with PostHog and Google, under their policies. To delete a feedback message you sent, email us and quote its text.

7. Children's Privacy

Pocket AI 3.1.6 is rated 18+ because downloaded open models may generate unrestricted text. We do not knowingly collect conversation content from any user.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
